Ask who actually makes the product
Buying from the manufacturer means the specification conversation and the production decision happen in the same place. When a mat needs to change size or build, that change is agreed once, not passed through a chain.
Check size and handling flexibility
A supplier who only offers fixed sizes will make your crew adapt. Ask whether mats can be produced to your dimensions and weights, and whether the lifting arrangement suits the equipment you actually have on site.
Confirm repeat supply and delivery
Mats wear out. Confirm the supplier can repeat the same build later, and that they can deliver to your site on a schedule that fits your blasting programme.
Finally, insist on a clear written quotation against your quantity and delivery point, so comparisons are like for like.
